The Barrel Box Review October 2016

The Barrel Box Review October 2016

There’s a new Canadian subscription box on the market, and it just happens to be for beer, wine and liquor lovers! I always feel so left out when it comes to these kind of boxes because most of them are based in the US and can’t ship to us Canadian box addicts. But…….this one is based out of Montreal, so shipping to my BC address was a breeze.

The Barrel Box – Good To Know

The Barrel Box is described as the perfect box for the collector, the connoisseur, the proud home bar owner, or anyone looking for an original gift for the bar enthusiast in your family. Let’s see what I received in my first box….

Collectors Edition Mons Glass & Shot Glass

So….apparently there is a reason for the glass and the shot glass. The product card says that Ale on lees are unfiltered and as a consequence, a deposit can be found in the bottom of the bottle. You are supposed to pour your beer into the glass and leave the last yeast-rich ounce for your shot glass……who knew!

Angostura Aromatic Bitters

I have never actually used bitters but I really need to start. Luckily they included a recipe card. It calls for Amaretto, line juice, lemon juice, and a dash of bitters.

Scarf/Bandana Belgh Brass and Poppers

A must have for any bar enthusiast.

Duo of Barrel Box Coasters

Perfect for a manly bar. These definitely go with the theme of the box.

Barrel Box T-Shirt

I actually really like this shirt. It’s an x-large so it will be for the BF. I really like the simplicity.

Liquor Pourers

These are a great addition to the box. Do you know how many times I wish I had pourers. It just makes everything so much easier.

The Barrel Box Review October 2016 – Final Thoughts

I’m quite impressed with my first Barrel Box. It definitely has a masculine feel to it, and would make a better box for guys than it would for girls, but I am impressed nonetheless. I also think that it is suited better to someone who is an extreme liquor enthusiast, rather than someone like myself who is just starting to put together her bar. I think the price point is there, the mixture of products is there, and so is the value. I would be very interested to see another box. This is definitely one to keep an eye on.

XOXO
