GlobeIn Artisan Box Review January 2017

GlobeIn Artisan Box is a monthly subscription box featuring favorite products from global artisans. Each box is curated around a monthly theme selected by the editor with the aim of helping you experience new and interesting products and cultures. They kindly sent me this box for review.

Eeek!! It’s here! My GlobeIn Artisan Box is here! I didn’t received a box in December and I’m actually really sad about it. You all know how much I adore this box. So it should come as no surprise that I went through GlobeIn withdrawals having to wait 2 months in between shipments. Not to mention the fact that the December Comfort box probably would have been my favourite box to date. Did you see the spoilers?  Cozy blankets, mugs, tea, and candles……all my favourites. But, as much as I want to cry right now, I need to focus on the box in front of me because it contains all my second favourites…..

January Theme

The theme for this month’s GlobeIn Artisan Box is “Love”. I think it is such a great idea to do this theme in January, as opposed to February, because it means subscribers will have all these wonderful “love” themed items prior to the big day……..Valentines.

This is the love box. Love is a box. Love is a piece of chocolate broken off, a pile of sand blown into glass. Love is a wine, a quiet toast.

Hand Blown Wine Glasses – Mexico

Cristaluc has set its sights on becoming an internationally recognized name in glass blowing, synonymous with quality and true to the local culture of Tonalá. Set your sights on the elegant form of your fancy new wine glasses. Can you believe they began as hot molten blobs?

  • Suggested use: Share a glass, share a moment.

Oh my goodness! How gorgeous are these wine glasses! Like I am talking G.O.R.G.E.O.U.S. Cute mugs are my first favourite and pretty wine glasses are my second. I can’t stop looking at these. And I love how thick the glass is. These babies are gorgeous and sturdy!

Shibori Napkin Set – India

In the dry, desert region of western Rajasthan, India, where economic opportunity is scarce, the intricacies of this demanding craft have been passed down through mothers and grandmothers to the small group of women whose hands expertly fashioned your new napkins.

  • Suggested use: Set the table for a special dinner, or make every dinner special.

I am always happy to receive pretty napkins. They really do make the dinner table that much more exciting. I would have loved a set of 4, but I’m definitely not complaining. Two is better than none.

Sopastone Word Heart – Kenya

Soapstone is a soft rock, popular in sculpture for its ability to be molded into various and complex shapes. Oh so like the heart itself! Your new soapstone heart, carved with a heartfelt word, was crafted by the Shona people, whose traditional stone sculptures are known around the world.

  • Suggested use: Place at the hearth. Perch among picture frames or as mantelpiece item.

Oh my goodness. My little heart is so happy right now. If you follow my blog you will know that hearts are my thing. They are my good luck charm and I look for them everywhere I go. This is a simple little item, but it holds huge value with this girl. It will have a permanent home on my desk.

Sopastone Dish – Kenya

Carving is a traditional craft of the Shona people. It is also, traditionally, a male-dominated realm. And then there’s Rose, an exceptional lady and exception to the rule. Rose is a carver. Imagine your smooth new dish, its beginnings as a giant, jagged block of stone. Imagine Rose, fiercely fashioning her life into its desired shape.

  • Suggested use: Fill with candy, mints, or condiments!

And a dish to go with the stone! Does it get any better! My first reaction was to use this as a jewelry tray. But I like the idea of filling it with candy.

Organic Dark Chocolate Caramel Crunch with Sea Salt – Dominican Republic

I’ve had this chocolate before, so I speak from experience when I say it is ah-mazing! And, it fits with the “love” theme perfectly. Really, it does. Wine, and chocolate, and the BF go hand-in-hand.

Palm Leaf Heart Bowl

A special variation on our usual basket, your new bowl is yet another creation of our weaver friends in Oaxaca.

  • Suggested use: Fill with something sweet…

I may have just peed my pants a little. You all know how obsessed I am with the palm leaf baskets, and now I have one with hearts on it. I don’t even know what to say right now. I am going to have to think of something really good to use this one for. My other baskets are used to hold face products and makeup brushes. This little gem is too special for that.

Oh you know……just a cute little bonus item…..that’s all. I am loving this font! I know who will be receiving this card……

GlobeIn Artisan Box Review January 2017 – Final Thoughts

What a perfect little box! Oh my goodness. I am so happy right now. Do you see why GlobeIn Artisan Box is one of my favourite subscription boxes? I’m tempted to say it is in the top 3. They nail it every month with their fun themes and gorgeous products. I’m still really sad that I missed out on the Comfort Box, but this one almost makes up for it. Wine glasses, hearts and chocolate……#love.

And having this as their January theme instead of their February theme….bonus points for that!

XOXO
