WineCollective Review May 2016

Today is a very special day. I finally get to review a wine subscription box; something I have been waiting for since I started AYOB. I recently discovered WineCollective, and let me tell you, it has changed my world. Don’t get me wrong, I love my Lifestyle Subscription Boxes, and my Beauty Subscription Boxes, but a wine subscription box……..this tops them all!

If you aren’t familiar with WineCollective it is a monthly subscription box that sends you unique and amazing wines. All wines have been previously tested and rated. These are wines which are proven to be delicious. They like to expand your palette by sending wines you may not have previously sampled. This way you get a unique perspective and try something new!

WineCollective offers a few different packages depending on the number of bottles you would like to receive. Most packages are a mixture of white and red, but there are a couple of packages which allow you to opt for all red or all white.

WineCollective Review May 2016-4

Villa Minelli Rosso – This wine is an ultra-exclusive for WineCollective members as it’s not available anywhere else in North America. It is a Merlot/Cabernet Sauvignon from Veneto Italy.

Chayee Bourras Classic – This wine comes from a land that is dominated by Malbec (I love Malbec) . It is Bonarda from Mendoza Argentina. I’ve never tried Bonarda before and am really looking forward to it. Apparently it is medium bodied with high acidity, and will pair well with rich foods.

WineCollective Review May 2016-5

Lantides 5 Senses – This wine is comprised of Muscato and Moschofilero and comes from Peloponnese Peninsula, Greece. It has a soft palate with citrus and blossom notes.

White Sheep Sauvignon Blanc – This one sounds like the perfect wine to enjoy on a hot summer day. It is a Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough, New Zealand and is described as a tropical wine with grassy notes. A fruit salad of pineapple, pears and melon.

Thoughts: It’s safe to say that this is a new favourite subscription box. I knew I was going to love it long before I received it in the mail, that’s just a given. I haven’t had a chance to try all the wines yet, as I just received the box yesterday, but I’m sure I will be happy with all of them. However, even if I don’t love all of them, I will still feel the same way about this subscription. WineCollective is all about trying new wines and discovering new brands and blends. Don’t get me wrong, I will be very happy if I end up loving every bottle, but it’s not something I’m expecting. My personal opinion is there’s no such thing as “bad” wine, because what I really love is the process, not the end result. If I discover a new favourite along the way that would just be a bonus. I am a HUGE fan of this subscription box and can’t wait to see more from them.

XOXO
