PageHabit Review August 2017

PageHabit provides exclusive book subscription boxes featuring author-annotated new release books in a variety of popular genres including Literary Fiction, Young Adult Fiction, Mystery, Fantasy, Romance, Historical Fiction and more. They are changing the way people share stories by creating a completely immersive reading experience for every kind of bookworm–the word-nerds, story smitten, information seekers, and diehard bibliophiles. They deliver the best new book releases to your door and bundle them with exclusive author insight, including written annotations, bookish goods, and an active reading community to boot. They kindly sent us this box for review.

PageHabit is a new book subscription box. I believe they use to be called Literary Box but it appears as though they re-branded themselves in June and are now offering a monthly subscription for book lovers. I LOVE to read and was very excited to learn about this new subscription. Lets go over the details….

Subscription Details

How Does it Work: PageHabit offers both monthly and quarterly book subscription plans. Once you sign up for your preferred genre and plan, you will receive a box every month for the monthly plans or every three months for the quarterly plans. When you first sign up, you are simply placing a reservation on a box. You will NOT be billed until your box is ready to ship. Our monthly boxes ship out around the 20th-25th of each month. After your first box, you will be billed every month or every three months until you unsubscribe.

What You Get: Monthly subscription plans feature one (1) brand new release, annotated by the author, a beautiful bookmark and a couple bookish goods to top it off. These ship out every month and each time the author is a surprise! Each box is $29.99 plus shipping.

Quarterly subscription plans also feature one (1) brand new release, annotated by the author, but the featured author also handpicks two additional books to round out the box and thoughtfully selects the bookish goods to accompany his/her brand new release. These boxes ship out every three months based on the calendar year: January, April, July and October. We will announce the featured author and the new release included ahead of time, but the rest of the box will be a tightly guarded secret! Each box is $49.99 plus shipping.
We solemnly swear to never repeat a book in the monthly or quarterly box.

Here’s a closer look at the items I received in the August Romance Subscription…

Wish You Were Here by Renee Carlino

Charlotte has spent her twenties adrift, floating from interest to interest, job to job, and guy to guy, searching for a spark but never quite finding it. All she knows is that she won’t discover it working as a waitress at a pies-and-fries joint in Los Angeles or living with her fun but aimless best friend in a tiny apartment in the Arts District.

Then Charlotte collides with Adam, a gorgeous and soulful painter who seems just as lost as she feels. Their instant connection turns into a midnight drink… and a whirlwind night of champagne, Chinese food, and the kind of conversation that only happens in romantic comedies. But the next morning, Adam gives Charlotte the cold shoulder, leaving her confused and hurt—and wondering if the few odd moments between them the night before were red flags in disguise.

Months later, Charlotte hasn’t been able to shake Adam, so she decides to find out what happened the morning after their magical night together. This fateful decision rewrites their wild love story, but what Charlotte doesn’t know yet is that the ending has already been written.

Since I received this box for review I wasn’t able to choose a specific genre. Had I been able to choose I definitely would have gone with the Young Adult Box. But, with that being said, I still wanted to give the romance selection a shot so I started reading it a few days ago and am actually quite enjoying it. It captured my attention right away, flows nicely and is easy to read.

Delightful Bookish Goods

Here’s a look at the fun little bookish goodies they included for us this month. I am absolutely loving the socks. Is it just me or is a cozy afternoon of reading ten times better when you wear comfy clothes and cute socks?!

August Donation

PageHabit is founded on the simple belief that reading is for everyone. With the purchase of every PageHabit box, we make a donation to support children’s literacy around the world. Each month, we partner with a different organization with the same mission, to help get books into the hands of children everywhere.

For the month of August they have chosen to work alongside The Buea Book Project and the Catholic University Institute of Buea, a new university in Buea, Cameroon, to build their first library.

PageHabit Review August 2017 – Final Thoughts

This was my first experience with PageHabit and so far I am impressed. Even though I wasn’t able to choose my preferred genre I am still happy with the book choice and am actually kind of wishing I could skip out of work for the rest of the day and go finish reading it. I love that PageHabit includes bonus book goodies each month, it makes the subscription that much more exciting and I also really like that they give back. I would still like to see more from this subscription but we are definitely off to a good start.

XOXO
