Bombay & Cedar Review August 2018
Bombay & Cedar is an aromatherapy, beauty & lifestyle subscription box featuring full size products including essential oils, diffusers, skincare, books, snacks & other products carefully curated for the discerning woman who lives a life inspired. They kindly sent us this box for review.
I don’t know what it is about this box but it just makes me so darn happy. Maybe it’s the beautiful box, the monthly theme, the thoughtfully curated items, or the fact that it focuses on all my faves – essential oils, aromatherapy, books and snacks. Whatever it is…..Bombay & Cedar is one of my all-time favourite subscription boxes to receive.

Here’s a closer look at the August Premium Bombay & Cedar….
August Packaging
Bombay & Cedar changes up the outside of the box every now and then. It use to have a grey background, then they changed it to a white background with a pink design and now we have a white background with yellow design. I’m thinking they change it every season but I could be wrong.
In addition to that, they have made some changes to their monthly magazine and product card. They have now combined both of them into one little mini magazine. It talks about the theme for the month, it lists all the products we have received and it features some of the brands included in the box.
August Theme: Renew
In honor of our one-year anniversary, we thought renewal would be perfect to help us celebrate the next chapter. We’re just as excited in month 13 as we were in month 1 and we’re so happy that you are here to take this journey with us. August’s box is full of goodies to help rejuvenation, restoration and of course renewal! Happy Birthday to us!
Blood Orange Essential Oil ($10)
Blood Orange is a breed of orange with a blood like color that is beautiful and striking. Its color is a testament to the abundance of antioxidants contained within.
Blood Orange Essential oil is one I haven’t tried before. It has a number of benefits (as all essential oils do), including the following:

- Uplifts the Mind
- Flushes Out Toxins
- Repels Insects
- Improves Appearance of Skin
Clove Leaf Essential Oil ($10)
Cloves have been regarded as the most vulnerable of spices since antiquity. In China 266BC, guests of the Emperor would be required to hold cloves in their mouths when speaking as to bestow a pleasant odor.
Clove Leaf Essential Oil also has a number of great benefits but what I am most excited about is the fact that it is the percent scent for Fall. Mix it with your new Blood Orange Essential Oil and you have the perfect Fall fragrance.
Birthday Cake Blondie by Rule Breaker ($2.49)
Happy Birthday to us! Rule Breaker’s new Birthday Cake Blondie is studded with white chocolate chips and topped with rainbow sprinkles (naturally color of course).
Eeek!!! Such a fun treat for the August box!!! Not only does it go perfectly with the overall theme (it’s Bombay & Cedar’s birthday) but it’s also a new discovery for me, one that I am pretty darn excited about. Rule Breaker Treats are vegan (100% Plant-Based), top 8 allergen-free (no wheat, tree nuts, peanuts, dairy, eggs, soy, fish or shellfish), certified gluten-free, nut-free (and school-safe), verified by the Non-GMO Project, certified kosher by Kof-K.
Creatures of the Night by Your Tea ($15)
Centuries of story telling says every great night needs a beginning, an end, and a whole lot in between. Includes hangover tea, sex tea, happy tea, energy tea, and Creating a Healthier You magazine.
Wow, it has been quite some time since this brand of tea has popped up in one of my subscription boxes. I receive the Happy Tea in a sub box a couple of years back. I love the packaging and I love the variety of tea we received.
Mani E.R. by NCLA Beauty ($16)
Avoid the risk of a potential mani emergency! Carry this travel size rescue kit for a fresh manicure in minutes. Kit includes: clippers, nail file, v-shaped push stick, rounded push stick and beauty scissors.
This little mani kit has my name written all over it. I LOVE travel-friendly items and this is definitely travel friendly. I received one of these kits in another box but I am more than happy to receive another. Now I have one for my purse and one for my overnight bag.
Rejuva Tonic Cleanser by Zatik ($22)
Formulated with: delightful harness of herbal extracts, essential oils, and tannin-rich dragon’s blood tree sap, which helps loosen and cleanse built up impurities, such as dirt and pollutants.
I don’t get overly excited about skincare items but that’s only because my skin is so darn sensitive. It actually makes me kind of sad that I can’t test this cleanser out. It looks/sounds amazing and I really like this brand.
The Next Big Thing ($16.95)
This doodle book is the ideal space to capture, shape, and record. Each spread features an inspiring thought on creativity, innovation, or idea generation.
I say this every time, but I am going to say it again……Bombay & Cedar always manages to find the most unique books. How fun is this? Such a great way to de-stress and let your creativity flow.
Sublimating & Firming Body Milk by Sahara Rose ($39)
Infused with nutritious luxurious prickly pear seed oil, this Nourishing Body Milk immediately moisturizes and hydrates to leave a delicately fragranced velvety sheen on the skin and lightly fragranced with a hint of majestic Neroli.
Now THIS is the kind of skincare item I LOVE to receive. I might not be able to test out face products but I am more than happy to test out skincare items meant for the rest of my body. I love a quality moisturizer. I can’t go a day without applying lotion so this item will definitely be used.
Gemstone Diffuser Necklace by Chakra Love ($59)
This gorgeous necklace features lava beads for diffusing your essential oils as well as beautiful gemstones with a vegan leather cord.
Chakra Love is a brand I am very familiar with. I discovered them a few years back and actually have a couple of their necklaces in my jewelry collection. Come to think of it, I’m pretty sure they have a subscription box of their own.

Bombay & Cedar Review August 2018 – Final Thoughts
Once again we have an amazing box full of amazing items. Bombay & Cedar never disappoints me. In fact, it’s probably one of the most consistent boxes I receive. Out of the 9 items we received in the August box there’s maybe only one I won’t get use out of, but that’s only because of my sensitive skin, other than that I am excited to use them all. I absolutely love the variety of items we receive. I love that I always get to look forward to receiving 2 new essential oils, skincare products, a book and a snack. It doesn’t get much better than that. Here’s a little recap……
