Bowzer Box Review March 2017

Bowzer Box is a Canadian subscription box for the furry friend in your life!  We have been reviewing this box for quite some time and it always hits it out of the park!  With Bowzer Box you will get 4-6 items for your dog including a toy, treats, health products or fun items that just make owning a pet that much more fun!  You can subscribe monthly to Bowzer or just jump right in with a three or six month subscription… Might we suggest just going for the six months up front?  You wont be disappointed. They kindly sent us this box for review.

Bentley and I look forward to this box every month!  In classic fashion, as soon as Bentley sniffed out his Bowzer Box the whining was incessant until I allowed him to see what was inside.

The Bake Shop

Who doesn’t love fresh baked treats from the bake shop?  This trip to the bake shop takes us to Stratford, ON – and it’s all about the pooch!  The bakery opened their doors in 2001 and is well know to the locals as “The Health Bakery for Dogs”.  The bakery treats are anything but average, using only the best ingredients from local farmers, including fresh apples, carrots, zucchini, all natural peanut butter, honey, molasses, flax seed, emu, real bacon, cheese, pureed bananas, parsley …. hardly the quality of ingredients you would expect to find on your average dog biscuit ingredient list.  That’s because the bakery treats are anything but average, combining fresh and wholesome ingredients with outstanding flavour and fun!  These treats appeal not only to the health-conscience owner, but also to the most discerning of slobbery palates!

This month’s theme is awesome!  Those ingredients sound amazing!  I just might try one of this biscuits myself.  Just kidding.

Ginger Snaps

Ginger has been used for its health benefits for over 5,000 years and is a favourite medicinal and culinary herb.  Ginger is known to relieve stress, settle an uneasy tummy, used as a digestive aid, great mouth freshener and also helps reduce inflammation.

I have never seen ginger in a dog cookie!  So interesting.  The bag smells like Christmas and I’m tempted to try one myself!

Chicken Liver Snaps

Liver contains significant amounts of protein, fat and vitamin A.  But don’t over do it!  Chicken liver should comprise less than 10% of your dog’s meat consumption per day to ensure that your dog is getting all of the health benefits.  So you can feel good about treating your dog with a snap or two a day!  Chicken live and eggs are locally sourced.

So glad for that tip on not over feeding your dog liver.  I never would have known otherwise.  I’m so happy to see a local shop featured in Bowzer Box this month.  It’s so great to receive bagged treats, but with so many chemicals out there and chemical baths with processing treats I just love knowing that these were made within a local kitchen!

Whimzees Dental Chew

We travelled out of North America for this treat only because we love it!  Made with all-natural ingredients, the vegetable-based texture will help remove plaque and tartar as they chew.

Love dental chews!  Bentley does too.  It’s good knowing that not everything your dog is eating is just crap.  I like knowing that he’s getting some benefit from all that chewing.

The Bakery Cookie

Using only the best ingredients from local farmers including fresh apples, carrots, zucchini, honey, molasses … Hardly the quality of ingredients you would expect to find on your average dog biscuit ingredient list.

Hardly the type of ingredient list I would expect to find in my own food!  Seriously, it can be so hard finding food made with actual food these days.  I’m so impressed with these products so far.

Ethical Pet Products – Spot Toy

Ethical strives to use safe materials for the creation of healthy products.  Their line is always changing to include the best new ideas for keeping pets happy and active.

This toy has a squeaker in each leg!  This is a gold mine for Bentley.  As soon as he gets a new toy job one is extracting the squeaker.  He can do this in an hour if the toy is easily chewed.  There are now four squeakers to remove!  Bentley is going to be a busy boy.

Bowzer Box March 2017 – Final Thoughts

As always, I love this box and am thrilled with its contents.  The locally sourced treats are a huge win and a nice change from the treats that can be found in any pet store.  Bentley is already enjoying the ginger snaps and has been whining for the toy since the box was opened.  I love not having to go to pet stores to find toys, treats and health products that are safe and reasonably priced.  Bowzer Box is such a win for any dog owner!
