BuddhiBox Review September 2018

BuddhiBox is a monthly Yoga inspired box that’s based on discovery, union and compassion. Each box contains 4-6 sample and full sized yoga-related products that will inspire your life, workouts and community. Products will be from different categories, including fitness, skincare, and fragrance. You’ll get to try staff favorites, product launches, and more. BuddhiBox believes it’s better to give than to receive, so each month a portion of proceeds from the sale of the boxes is donated to a different charity. They kindly sent us this box for review.

September Box Details

The September BuddhiBox is all about the chakras! It’s packed with some awesome goods that center around balancing your energy centers. The included info card shares a saying that is a perfect match for this month’s theme:

The body is the vehicle, consciousness the driver. Yoga is the path, and the chakras are the map. -Anodea Judith

Chakras are always good for a monthly box theme. There is so much to learn about them, from how they serve us to how the unbalancing of them can be detrimental to us. They can be realigned and balanced in so many ways and with so many different tools so it’s always fun to add more of those kind of items to my collection. Because just like all energies, the energies of the chakras ebb and flow from balanced to out of balance and always need to be checked in on to help bring them to center.

Here’s a look at what was in this month’s box:

Chakra Card Set ($12)

The word “chakra” refers to centers of spiritual power inside the human body. Balancing them is essential for a healthy life. Use these stunning, watercolor chakra cards to learn the core meaning of each of the 7 chakras. Each card also includes a corresponding mantra you can recite daily.

I like how simple and easy to use these cards are. The artwork is bright and eye-catching and the size of the cards is perfect for carrying with you anywhere you need to be reminded of your chosen mantra. These would be great to incorporate into a meditation session that focuses on a specific chakra. They’d also be great to hang on a bathroom mirror or somewhere prominent to be reminded often of a positive thought.

Ganesha Mini Statue ($15)

One of the most-worshiped deities in Hinduism, Ganesha, is thought to be the remover of obstacles and the promoter of intellect and wisdom. Tuck this pocket-sized statue in your bag, keep it on your sacred space, or take it with you on your travels for good luck and protection.

This seems like something I should have with me at all times! It’s so easy to create roadblocks for yourself so to have a little physical reminder that they can be overcome would be so helpful. This little statue is made of solid metal and is a little over an inch tall so it really can be brought or put anywhere. I think for now I’ll add mine to my meditation area to remind me to always keep an open mind.

Good Juju LA – Organic Third Eye Essential Oil ($20)

Third eye oils can balance, align, and open the third eye chakra to promote clarity of thought and spiritual insight, addressing balances such as nightmares and fear. Made with essential oils that embody the healing properties of plants, and charged with amethyst gemstones for meditation and relaxation, use this oil to anoint the brow area after a workout or even before bedtime.

Essential oil rollers are always a favorite item to receive because they are so easy to use and always smell so good. I like that this one has a specific chakra connection to help balance the third eye. The scent is from lavender and chamomile essential oils so it’s a mind clearing herbally-floral scent. I sense a grounding feeling from the aroma so I think this would be great to use when trying to overcome fears or when your’e looking for clarity.

Raw Crystal Point ($6)

Raw crystal points, which are small enough to carry in a pocket or yoga bag are perfect for directing healing energy and also help energize your meditations. One of the most versatile healing stones available, it is essential for focusing and amplifying your intentions.

I like the raw simplicity of this stone. And what I like even more is how it’s a general healing stone so it could be used with a chakra meditation for any of the 7 chakras. Like it says, it’s a small stone (only about 2 inches long) so it can easily be carried with you anywhere you go.

Love and Lotus Naturals Chakra Bath Salts ($14)

Add a soothing quality to your next bath with these fragrant salts, designed to relax, renew and energize. Offering a variety of natural ingredients, each of the 7 salts provides a boost for the corresponding chakra and leaves you feeling refreshed and ready for the next challenge.

The version of the Chakra Bath Salts that I received is the “Ajna” blend or the blend that’s made for the third eye chakra. I absolutely love the idea of having a bath salt for each chakra and I appreciate that the coloring matches the chakra it’s for, but I try to avoid artificial coloring in products I use so this isn’t the most useful item for me. The aroma is heavenly, like a sweet, floral scent with an overtone of mint. It makes me think of sweet, fresh water. However, it also uses artificial fragrance to achieve this wonderful scent, another thing I try to avoid in products I use. Overall, a great concept for a product, just not one I’d likely use.

BuddhiBox – Hamsa Necklace ($5)

A symbol of the Buddhist religion, the Hamsa hand offers protection and promotes happiness and good fortune. This pretty hamsa necklace has a sodalite, clear crystal and aquamarine bead, to balance the throat chakra, which helps promote creativity, expression, and communication while offering a connection to your intuition.

I like the simplicity of this necklace and how it could really match any outfit. The hamsa charm is about an inch long, so not totally considered a delicate size, but still small enough to not be overpowering. I love the meaning behind this symbol, a good reminder to bring happiness into life whenever possible.

BuddhiBox Review September 2018 – Final Thoughts

I am loving the chakra theme of September’s box! It’s so easy for our energy centers to get out of whack when we favor one over another or forget about one completely so it’s so good to keep tools around to remind you to balance them out. A few different boxes I’ve received lately have been themed this way and it’s been awesome building a collection of these tools. I appreciate the reminder look inward and see which chakra I could tend to most right now. Overall, I’d say it’s another great box from BuddhiBox!
