Chef’s Plate Review August 2017

Chef’s Plate is a subscription service that delivers chef-designed recipes and fresh ingredients each week. There is no subscription or membership fee to join. Their recipes begin at $10.95 per plate for the 2-Person Plan and $9.75 per plate for the Family Plan. A Year of Boxes pays for this subscription.

Chef’s Plate is one of the best subscription boxes I receive. I honestly think that recipe delivery services are the way of the future. I have a feeling we are going to start seeing more subscriptions like this in the next few years. This is a subscription box that makes life easier. It’s a convenience subscription box, one that delivers essential items to you each week. Sometimes I prefer the practical subscription boxes to the “fun” subscription boxes because of the time and energy they save me. Chef’s Plate has saved me not only time and energy, but money as well. I am their biggest fan!

Here’s a look at the recipes I received this week:

Salmon Salsa Verde

A piquant salsa verde peppered with fresh parsley and shallot balance the richness of seared salmon in this vibrant dish. Served with a medley of burst sun gold tomatoes, a warm bed of couscous soaks up the heavenly juices.

Chipotle Black Bean and Corn Double Stacks

Creamy black beans bring flavour and body to this playful plant-powered burger! A dose of BBQ sauce and chipotle spices lend the burgers a smoky heat, tucked into crusty ciabatta buns. Fiesta-ready sweet potato ‘nachos’ are served alongside, smattered with a sweet corn and jalapeno toppers.

Black Sesame Soba Noodles

Back by popular demand, these twirls of savoury sesame-soaked soba noodles are a vessel for flavour and crunch in this Asian-inspired salad bowl. Shreds of napa cabbage are sautéed with shallot and tousled aside slices of buttery avocado and radish. The double crunch of black sesame and cashews make this dish as addictive as it is healthy!

Chef’s Plate Review August 2017 – Final Thoughts

Chef’s Plate recently started bringing back some of their most popular recipes. I absolutely love that they are doing this. So often I will make a recipe and love it so much that I want to make it again, and again, and….again. I’m not sure how they determine which recipes are the most popular, but I would love for them to maybe start taking polls on their Facebook page. In addition to the Black Sesame Soba Noodles recipes (brought back by popular demand) I also ordered a salmon recipe (their fish is always fresh) and a burger recipe which I can make vegan by leaving out one ingredient. I often makes these recipes for the BF so if they aren’t 100% vegan it’s not a big deal. But……I would love to see them offer a vegan option in the future. Here’s hoping…..

XOXO
