Date Mail Review October 2017

Date Mail is a date to door delivery service, they just made date night easier! A fresh date idea is mailed to your door every month, always a different theme and all with the intention of helping you slow down, laugh, love and create fun new memories with one another! Designed to help couples have fun in unique, meaningful ways, the products they use come from Canadian entrepreneurs whenever possible. They kindly sent us this box for review.

Date Mail is a genius idea for a subscription box. I absolutely love that there’s a box dedicated specifically to date night. This box is perfect for anyone needing ideas and inspiration when it comes to spending time with your significant other.

Subscription Details

When you sign up for a Date Mail subscription you have a few options to choose from. If you want to test the waters you can opt for a One Time Box. If you know you want to give it a go you can sign up for their Monthly Box, and if you want to take the plunge you can opt for the 3-month or 6-month subscription. You can also opt for the “Quickie” which is a printable mini date night idea.

How It Works

Today I am reviewing the regular monthly subscription. Here’s what to expect:

  • New theme announced each month as a tease
  • Instructions and everything you need for your date
  • Dates for a fun night at home & some that will get you out of the house on an adventure
  • Always unique & effortless

Here’s a closer look at the items we received in the October French Kiss Box:

Drinking Chocolate

This was the first form of chocolate introduced to France and Marie-Antoinette never started her day without a cup of it. And the white chocolate chips are meant for you to melt and rim your glass with for an extra sweet touch and we also suggest rimming your wine glass with it, particularly white wine or Prosecco. Wine is very French after all!

Oops, I got distracted by the white chocolate Roll & Sip and forgot to include the bag of milk chocolate pieces in the photo. You will see it below with bistro date idea. Totally my fault. I was so excited that they included the Roll & Sip again that my mind stopped working properly as I was totally focused on the fact that I got to melt these babies, and rim my wine glass with melted white chocolate. If you haven’t tried it, you must!!! It’s the perfect little date night idea…..really it is.

Any who…..let’s move on to the next date night event……

Kissing Tips

There is a bag with two sets of cards clipped together, one for each of you. Take turns reading them to one another and practicing the various kisses – it is a box called French Kiss after all!

And the Nice Bum, Where Ya From? chocolate is for you to place between your teeth and pass back and forth until it’s all gone and ultimately kissing.

How fun is this!!! It’s the perfect way to promote intimacy while also having fun. I guarantee it will make you and your partner laugh, but it’s also a great way to add a little sexiness to your date night. I love it!!

Bistro Date

We can’t deliver a bistro but we can deliver some French flavours! We sent crepe mix, strawberry syrup topping and a recipe for the filling if you want to kick it up a notch and go all Julia Child on us! We even included napkins to add to your bistro table. PS – If you don’t want to make the filling the syrup is amazing by itself.

I love this!! I think it’s one of my favourite date night ideas thus far. I can also see myself using this for a Sunday morning mini date. One of my favourite things to do with the BF is spend a lazy Sunday morning at home, just the two of us. I love taking my time in the morning, staying in bed a little longer than usual, having coffee together and enjoying a nice breakfast.

Communication Skills

Put on your best French accent and get to work practicing the language of love! We’ve made it simple and fun (hopefully) and it’s on a card that’s easy for you to tuck away and pull out anytime you need to brush up on your communication skills – they are key to a successful relationship, right?!

This is a cute idea and fits the theme perfectly.

An Eyefull

Use a pencil when having fun with theses appointment cards to meet one another in the boudoir so you can make them re-usable.

Lol, this makes me laugh. Such a cheeky idea. Date Mail always manages to come up with unique little date night ideas that will put a smile on your face.

Draw Me

Draw me like one of your French girls is what Rose famously said to Jack the night the Titanic sank. And whether you’re a good artiste or not, we encourage you to grab the pencil and paper we rolled up in your dinner napkins and have a laugh with one another while you do your best sketches of one another. If you don’t have an artistic bone in your body, go abstract. As long as you’re having fun, it’s mission accomplished.

Drawing is definitely not something I am good at, and the same goes for the BF. But, this is a great little activity to do while enjoying that glass of wine rimmed with white chocolate…….just sayin’.

Another Date

Boo-tilicious. Each month we’ll send a date night out idea card to keep handy – maybe in a designated drawer or envelope – so that whenever you’re stuck for an idea, you’ll have something to draw inspiration from.

I LOVE this idea. On the back of the card you will find date night ideas to use while you wait for your next Date Mail box to arrive.

Date Mail Review October 2017 – Final Thoughts

This is my favourite Date Mail box to date!! I love the variety of ideas in the October box. I feel like you could stretch this out over a few nights/mornings during the month. You could have a Sunday morning bistro date, make the yummy crepes and enjoy a cup of coffee together. You could do the Roll & Sip and Draw Me activity one night when you feel like enjoying some wine and having a laugh. You could use the appointment cards anytime throughout the month and you could enjoy the drinking chocolate on a cozy night in while practicing your Communication Skills. Date Mail really did an amazing job with the October box and I love that they included additional date night ideas on a card that you can tuck away and save for future date nights. I feel like Date Mail is a subscription that is going to keep getting better and better as the months go by. I’m excited to see what they come up with next.

XOXO
