We just finished our first Dispatch mystery and now we are on to the next. Our first mystery lasted a total of 7 months but I think this next one will only last 2 or 3. Let’s have a closer look…..
New Month, New Mystery – Marlow’s Game: Chapter 1
Are you ready to play Marlow’s Game: The Cat’s Eye? In this two-part adventure, tech giant & notorious recluse Jacob Marlow has made a rather startling announcement: he has hidden a treasure in rare jewels somewhere in the world. He has chosen a select group of people to participate in the hunt, and you’re surprised to be one of the lucky few. Will you accept the challenge and attempt to track down the treasure?
Cat’s Eye Card
First up we have the Cat’s Eye Card, it is definitely some sort of code. Whether it will be useful now or for a future box I’m not yet sure.
Letter from Jacob Marlow
Jacob Marlow is the main character in this mystery. He’s the one who has set up the treasure hunt. In his letter he introduces himself, tells you what the treasure is and explains why he has created such a treasure hunt. Oh……and he also tells us that we might find a couple clues online.
Note from Peter
This is interesting. Peter is one of Jacob’s assistants and he tells you that he would not undertake this quest if he were you. He also tells us that the other assistant (Jacob has two) always lies and that neither of them want you to find the treasure.
Fill in the Blank Puzzle
Here we have a fill in the blank puzzle. Some of the letters in the blanks are circled which means the circled letters will create a word and part of a clue.
This is too funny. The article talks about Jacob and what the treasure hunt is all about. It also says that Jacob’s cat chose the recipients of the packages.
Here we have a page out of a textbook that talks about the Giza Cat who’s most notable feature is its emerald eyes. It also tells us that the emerald eyes are cursed!
Code Reference Sheet
A secret code!! This is my favourite kind of clue. What will we end up using this for?
This cat painting has hieroglyphics at the bottom so the next item will come in handy……
I am assuming we use this to determine what the cat painting says.
Dispatch by Breakout Review May 2018 – Final Thoughts
I can already tell that this mystery is much more my speed than the last one. Don’t get me wrong, the last mystery was great and the attention to detail was amazing, but something about this box has me intrigued. I also like that this mystery is going to be shorter than the last. I’m already drawn in by the clues and find myself wanting to start figuring them out ASAP. A good mystery draws you in immediately and that’s exactly what Marlow’s Game Chapter 1 has done.
