GlobeIn Artisan Box Review August 2019

GlobeIn Artisan Box is a monthly subscription box featuring handmade, ethically sourced products from makers around the world. Each Premium Box has a theme and for August it’s the Salud Box.*

*They kindly sent us this box for review.

GlobeIn Artisan Box has recently changed its subscription offering and now have one subscription option to choose from (all prices in USD):

Premium Box ($40 per month): Each Premium Box is approximately $70 in value and includes 4 to 5 handmade items by artists from around the world. Subscribers can also choose additional products to customize their box. Shipping in the US is $10/month; shipping to Canada $22/month (your first box ships free); and international shipping is $25/month.

Each GlobeIn Artisan Box comes with a full-colour guide to contents. It tells you where the products were made, who made them, how to use them, and what impact your purchase has on the lives of the makers.

Palm Leaf Fan, Mexico ($15)

This fan isn’t really to my taste, but I can totally see it hanging on the wall in my aunt’s Florida condo or any other setting with a tropical vibe. Aside from using it to cool down, GlobeIn suggested putting it in a vase with a flower arrangement.

Set of 6 Tropical Glass Stirrers, Mexico ($12)

These are super cute for tropical cocktails, if not exactly to my taste either. They’re the kind of thing I’d like to see in a May, June or July box to use all summer (or gift to someone to use all summer).

Personal Sangria Pitcher, Morocco ($40)

Annnnnnd I don’t drink Sangria. But I love this pitcher! I’d use it for water or flowers in the spring and summer months.

Stemless Wine Glass, Mexico ($15)

My daughter says this glass is “so grandma” and it really is. My mom would love it. She’s claimed a few of the hand-blown glasses from previous boxes and enjoys a glass of wine from time to time so I’ll set this aside for her.

Level Ground Fair Trade Dried Organic Mango, Columbia ($7)

My hubby, son and I all love dried mango and this is easily a couple of servings so we’ll have enough to share. I’ve tried a couple of pieces and it’s the best I’ve ever tasted! Really flavourful and chewy and no added sugar. Deelish.

So the Salud GlobeIn Artisan Box was largely a miss for me personally, but I’ll be able to gift the fan, the wine glass and the drink stirrers to someone who will love them. There’s a lid for every pot, as they say, this one just wasn’t a great fit for me.

What do you think of August’s GlobeIn Artisan Box?
