GlobeIn Artisan Box Review March 2016

GlobeIn is a breath of fresh air, it is my monthly reminder to appreciate beautiful handmade goods. I don’t know how they do it, but they manage to find the most amazing artisan products, from around the world, month after month. I’m actually kind of amazed at some of the items they find. They have definitely opened my eyes to the world of handmade goods, and have made me realize that our everyday, name brand, commercial goods aren’t all they’re cracked up to be.

If you aren’t familiar with The GlobeIn Artisan Box it is a monthly subscription box featuring favorite products from global artisans. Each box is curated around a monthly theme selected by the editor with the aim of helping you experience new and interesting products and cultures. This box was provided complimentary for review and may include affiliate links.

The theme for this month’s GlobeIn Artisan Box is Memory. The product card is worded perfectly, I’m not sure who is responsible for the copy each month, but it is perfect. It says” Memory encapsulates our nostalgia for the past, our plans and dreams moving forward, and those pesky little to-dos that will get us there”. I don’t think I could have worded it better if I tried……I can’t wait to see what’s inside.

Pencil Cup (Turkey) – Believe it or not, I don’t have a pencil cup on my desk, and I’m not sure why. It says to curate your pencil box with the writing implements you’ll need to pen your own dreams into action – love, love, love it!

Elephant Poo Bookmark (Sri Lanka) – This is another item you would think I’d have but I don’t. And can you believe it….this bookmark is actually made out of elephant poo! What!! Since an elephant’s diet is purely vegetarian (yay for vegan animals) it’s waste is raw cellulose and can be cleaned and processed into a fine acid-free paper. I hope my friend Ashley is reading this, I told her us vegans smell better than meat-eaters, and this is proof!!

Wooden Frame (Turkey) – Awe, what a pretty little picture frame. This speaks to the nostalgia part of the memory theme. Fill it with a happy photo and take momentary wonders…..says the product card.

Planner (Ghana/Rwanda) – I can’t even describe how happy this item makes me. Would you laugh if I said I already have 6 planners but am extremely excited to now have a seventh? I don’t know what it is about planners, but they make my world a better place. The product card says to use this one to envision your week.

Thoughts: Wow……..that’s all I can say….wow. I am in love with this month’s GlobeIn box. I feel like I start to appreciate this box more and more every month. Last month’s box was good, but this month’s box is great. The planner put it over the top, I would have been happy if it was the only item in the box. But, I’m also really happy to have a pencil cup, a pretty new frame, and a bookmark made of poo. Did you ever think you would hear those words come out of my mouth? I certainly didn’t……we have GlobeIn to thank for that. Already looking froward to next month’s box.

XOXO
