GlobeIn Artisan Box Review March 2017

GlobeIn Artisan Box is a monthly subscription box featuring favorite products from global artisans. Each box is curated around a monthly theme selected by the editor with the aim of helping you experience new and interesting products and cultures. They kindly sent us this box for review.

AYOB has been reviewing GlobeIn for quite a while, but this is only my second time and I’m already so impressed with this subscription!  I love traveling and for entertainment I binge watch The Amazing Race dreaming of where to go next!  To have hand-crafted and hand-picked items from around the world sent to my door is like having a mini-travel session right in my living room every time I open this box!

I’m already in love!  This months theme is “Dine”.   “You could go out – but why?  Fanciness, flair, and adventures in flavour are all right here.”

Oh my goodness!  Are you seeing this?!  That bowl, that wooden spoon!  So lovely.  This is what subscription boxes are all about!  Personal gifts to yourself each month that make the everyday life just that much more exciting!  I love to cook, but sometimes it’s the last thing you want to do when you get home from a long day, but with treats like this I’m already excited to cook up a storm!

Hand-Painted Pasta Bowl – Tunisia

Suggested Use: Heap high with whatever’s cooking and serve your next meal family style

This is so beautiful!  Have you ever been to one of those studios where you get to paint your own pottery?  I have, and it’s super hard!  I couldn’t imagine painting something like this.  My favourite dish to eat out of is a shallow bowl, so I’m completely in love with this item!

Olive Wood Spork – Tunisia

Suggested Use: Serve…anything really.  Your spork is up to the task.

I have a bit of an obsession with wooden serving spoons.  It’s been the treasure of choice on many of my trips!  The wood grain in this spork is beautiful!  I can’t wait to put it to work.

Palm Leaf Bottle Basket – Mexico

Suggested Use: As a cozy for your table wine!

Ah! Love this!  I feel like I would use this more to gift a bottle of wine than as a cozy for table wine.  Mainly because wine doesn’t last long enough in my house to cozy it in anything!

Organic Volcano Rice – Indonesia

Suggested Use: Stir-fry.  Chili.  Pilaf. Risotto. Salad. Pudding!

Spice Grinder – South Africa

Suggested Use: Try out some new dishes inspired by your blend, or simply keep on the table to add flair to whatever you’re serving

I am terrible when it comes to spice combinations, so the spice grinder is perfect for me!  Takes all of the guess-work out!  I’m super excited to try out the rice, but I’m more excited to eat it out of my fancy new bowl!

GlobeIn Artisan Box March 2017 – Final Thoughts

I adore this box!  Every item is a win!  I’ve said it before, I’m a practical person, so I love that the items in this box are truly every day use items!  The kitchen is where the community happens and it truly is the heart of a home.  I’m such a sucker for a good theme too, and food is really the best theme out there!

  1. Patricia says:

This may be the dumbest question ever, but this box often has painted bowls or cups and so on – is it safe to eat out of them? What kind of paint do they use, are we sure the bowls don’t contain lead? I’m very leery of eating out of bowls or dishes that aren’t made in the USA for that reason. The stuff in this box is gorgeous, but I’m not so sure that I’d feel comfortable eating out of it.

    1. Not a dumb question at all!! I’m actually so glad you asked. I will see what I can find out.
