HelloFresh Canada Review September 2017

HelloFresh Canada delivers fresh ingredients and healthy, chef-curated recipes based on seasonal farm fresh ingredients straight to your doorstep each week. Every week HelloFresh members choose three meals from a selection of award-winning, constantly-changing recipes (say goodbye to recipe boredom!). They kindly sent us this box for review. 

If you follow the blog you will already know that meal delivery services are my obsession. I started ordering boxes like this more than a year ago and don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. I honestly can’t say enough about recipe subscriptions. They have saved me time, money, stress, and cut down on my food waste. What’s not to love?!

Today we are having a quick look at my September HelloFresh Canada delivery. I will be posting the recipes over the next week. Today I just want to show you what the box looks like when it arrives, and give you some details on your subscription options.

Subscription Details

HelloFresh Canada has recently expanded their shipping locations to include – Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, and the Maritimes. This is awesome!! If you are thinking about giving this subscription a try, here are your options:

  • Choose Your Plan:
    • Pronto Plan ($11.67 per meal)
      • The Pronto Plan is quick, convenient, delicious and nutritious! Meals are simple to prepare, taking under 30 minutes to make, and full of exciting flavours to help break your mealtime routine.
      • 3 Recipes per week for 2 or 4 people
    • Family Plan ($10.83 per meal)
      • Our Family Plan features easy-to-follow recipes with fresh, healthy ingredients. It’s the best way to get the entire family (even picky eaters!) into the kitchen to cook and enjoy dinner together.
      • 3 Recipes per week for 4 people
    • Veggie Plan ($12.33 per meal)
      • Our Veggie Plan involves an abundance of seasonal produce, hearty grains, and vegetarian friendly proteins.
      • 3 Recipes per week for 2 people
  • Choose Your Delivery Day: Tuesday or Wednesday
  • Receive Your Weekly Delivery & Enjoy!

Note: Recipe selection is limited. The Pronto Plan and Family Plan only offer 4 recipe options per week and the Veggie Plan only provides 3 recipes which means with the Veggie Plan you do not get to choose your recipes.

Hearty Lentil Salad with Roasted Sweet Potatoes and Brussels Sprouts

Introducing your new go-to for a quick and healthy weeknight dinner. We’re mixing together hearty green lentils with Brussels sprouts and honey-roasted sweet potatoes for the perfect combination of flavour and texture. A sprinkling of feta and pepitas finishes off.

Moroccan Chickpea Falafels With Yellow Couscous and Lemon Crema

Falafel are a popular street food all across the Middle East and Egypt but there’s a lot of disagreement as to where they originated and who makes the finest. We think ours are up there with the best! Try them and see if you agree!

HelloFresh Canada Review September 2017 – Final Thoughts

So far I have been extremely happy with all my HelloFresh Canada deliveries. I love that they have a veggie option and that 3 new recipes are automatically delivered each week. No need to login to your account and choose your meals, that part is taken care of for you. The three recipes in this week’s box all look amazing. I am particularly excited about the Lentil Salad, it has all my favourites – lentils, sweet potatoes, and brussels sprouts. I am just about to go make it now. The recipe looks like it will be a cinch to make, which is another thing I love about HelloFresh. So far all of their meals have been quick, easy and healthy. I’m also very excited about the Falafels. I’ve been wanting to find a good recipe for those that I can make often and keep in the fridge for a quick snack.
