Here’s a closer look at the items I received for the month of January…

Included in every JoahBox is a mini pamphlet detailing all of the products featured each month. You’ll get in-depth descriptions and instructions (in English, of course)!

THE PLANT BASE AC Clear Magic Gel – $23

This month, subscribers will receive either the Waterfall Moist Balanced Hyaluronic Acid 100 or the AC Clear Magic Gel by THE PLANT BASE. I got the AC Clear Magic Gel, but I wish I got the hyaluronic acid since my skin is always in need to extra moisture. Nonetheless, I’m very excited to be trying out THE PLANT BASE, which is a new brand to me. This gel is geared towards troubled skin with acne or pore congestion. It’s a clear gel that contains AHA to help control excess sebum and clear dead skin cells. I use this as a spot treatment on my blemishes and have only noticed slight improvements in terms of redness and reduction in size. It does help speed up the healing process slightly, but I didn’t see any dramatic changes overnight. Usually, I’m not a fan of spot treatments because they don’t seem to work well for me.

British M Organics Hydrate Hair Butter – $9

British M is a brand created by top hairstylists in Seoul, Korea. These hair experts formulated the Organics Hydrate Hair Butter with shea butter and argan oil to help nourish and hydrate damaged, worn out hair. The hair butter can be used in two ways, as a hair mask or a leave-in conditioner. I like to use it as a leave-in treatment by taking a small amount and rubbing it through the ends of my hair. It leaves my looks looking and feeling so soft and smooth! Plus, it gives it a shinier appearance too!

The BOTANISIGN Hand and Nail Cream – $9

I’m a huge fan of hand cream and this one by the BOTANISIGN is great! There are 3 possible variations: Aromatic (Jojoba Seed Oil), Floral, and Classic (Shea Butter). I received the floral kind, which smelled like baby powder at first, but then transitions to a more appealing floral scent. The hand cream has a lightweight gel-like consistency that dries quickly without any residue film. My hands feel moisturized without feeling icky or heavy!

MacQueen Glam Tint – $14

The MacQueen Glam Tint is another variant item that can come in 3 different shades: #01 Red, #04 Coral, or #05 MLBB Rose. I received #05 MLBB Rose, which is a warm muted rosy pink. This lip tint has a very smooth and opaque consistency that glides effortlessly onto the lips. It’s really easy to apply and all your need is one swipe for full pigmentation. It has a glossy finish that gives the lips a smoother and juicier appearance. The only con is that it doesn’t last very long on the lips and requires reapplication.

NO:HJ Deep Cleansing Bubble Mask – $3.5

I LOVE this sheet mask! Unlike typical sheet masks, this one immediately begins to bubble once you apply it onto the skin. The oxygen created from the bubbles helps cleanse the skin from impurities and give you a brighter and clearer complexion. It was so much fun to use and my face felt rejuvenated afterwards!

JoahBox Review January 2019 – Final Thoughts

JoahBox continues to leave me impressed with their selection of curated items each month. This month featured beauty products from all different categories, including makeup, skincare, hair care, and body care. Plus, no Korean beauty box is complete without a sheet mask!

My favorite items this month is the MacQueen Glam Tint and the NO:HJ Deep Cleansing Bubble Mask. The lip tint has been my go-to choice in the morning because of the effortless application and the bubble sheet mask was so much fun to use!

JoahBox remains one of my top favorite K-beauty boxes because of how they introduce me to popular favorites, as well as new brands that aren’t easily accessible or known to me. This month I was introduced to THE PLANT BASE, British M, and The BOTANISIGN which I’m very happy to have discovered. I can’t wait to see what’s in store next month!
