KiwiCo Review January 2017

KiwiCo builds children’s creative confidence and problem-solving skills with award-winning STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) projects and activities. Every month, each of their lines (Cricket Crate (ages 0-2), Koala Crate (ages 3-4), Kiwi Crate (ages 5-8), Doodle Crate (ages 9-16+), and Tinker Crate (ages 9-16+)) delivers developmentally appropriate projects, inspiration, and activities created by in-house experts, and tested by kids.

In each crate, young makers will find an educational magazine, project supplies, and detailed instructions. KiwiCo, Inc. lines cover themes in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math), art and design, imaginative play, and fine motor skills.

I’m not going to lie.  When I opened this box I could feel the kid bubble up inside me!  My hands were literally shaking with excitement and an eagerness to craft and build!  I’m 31, but I don’t see why I can’t order this crate for myself every month.

Inside each KiwiCo is an educational project.  This month is focusing on the solar system.  I never did make that traditional science project of the solar system.  I have visions of me staying up late, cross-legged on my living room carpet with a cup of coffee crafting a solar system until the wee hours of the morning.  I’m not kidding… It might very well happen.

Each KiwiCo provides exactly what you need to create your project, no more and no less.  This is a parenting dream, as no parent likes left over craft supplies that can’t be put to use on something else.  When you’re done this project, you’re done!  Here are just some of the items needed for your perfect solar system!

What solar system is complete without planets and UFO’s?  I like how KiwiCo has also provided the paints you need to complete this project.  All your creative and educational needs in just one spot!

These meteors are part of a Meteor Launcher Game, as a side project in the crate.  Launchers and items to build them are included, as well as puffed balls to shoot.  Two projects for the price of one!  What a great idea, cause once your done your solar system you will be itching to move on to the next project.  KiwiCo is one step ahead and has already thought of that.

This is your handy-dandy instruction book for building the solar system and meteor game.  It’s super easy to read with lots of visuals.  If your kids are of a reading stage they can walk themselves though this project no problem!

This magazine is unreal!  It’s full of facts, comics and educational material.  It’s displayed in such a way to intrigue kids into learning.  It’s super colourful and easy to read.

KiwiCo Box Review January 2016 – Final Thoughts

This box has hit it out of the universe (pun intended)!  I’m so impressed with the quality of items and projects!  It’s perfect for a homeschooling family or an all in one box craft to take to grandmas house to busy the kids.  If you do homeschool I don’t understand why you wouldn’t subscribe to this box.  Like I said, I myself might stay up late to build this solar system.  KiwiCo has done a great job of piquing interest and creativity in an educational way!  I can’t wait to see what the next box holds… I’m hoping for something dinosaur related!
