Little Life Box Review December 2016

Little Life Box Review December 2016

Little Life Box is a Canadian subscription box that gives you the opportunity to sample and experience new green, organic and health conscious products in a convenient and fun way that saves you money. Little Life Box kindly sent me this box to review.

Here’s a look at the items we received this month:

Sesame Seeds – Elan

Sesame seeds add such a wonderful touch to many dishes. These are organic, non GMO, gluten free and vegan!

As soon as I saw these in the box, I had to get on Google and do some research. If we received a big ol’ bag of sesame seeds in the vegan LLB, it must be for good reason. I actually had NO clue how amazing these little seeds are. I really need to start eating them more often. They are good for digestion, healthy skin, hearth health, anxiety, anemia, hair and eye health…….just to name a few. Get them in you!

Bone Strength Tablets – New Chapter

These tablets are a great vegetable and non GMO source of calcium, magnesium and vitamin D to help keep your bones strong and healthy.

Every time I tell someone I am vegan, one of the questions they ask me is – how do you get your calcium? People assume the only way to get enough calcium in your diet is to drink milk…….but, I actually read a couple of articles that talk about the negative impact of milk when it comes to bone health and osteoporosis. Imagine how excited I was to see veggie based calcium tablets in the box…….just sayin’

Facial Cleanser – Meditree

Made with natural ingredients including: tea tree oil, willow bark extract, aloe vera and chamomile, this organic and vegan facial cleanser will make your face feel super clean and fresh.

I’m usually kind of scared to test out new face products, but this one is made with tea tree oil and my skin responds very well to tea tree. Plus, it is very exciting that they included a full-size bottle. How can I not test it out!

Hand & Body Lotion – Dr. Bronner’s

This nourishing and hydrating cream is everything you need to keep your skin in tip top shape this winter. It’s cruelty-free, faitrade, non GMO, organic and vegan.

These are just tiny little samples but I might keep them in my gym bag for emergencies.

Hemp Seeds – Mettrum Originals

These Canadian hemp seeds are vegan and a great source of essential fatty acids like Omega 3, Omega 6 and GLA.

I love my hemp seeds, and this is a brand I haven’t tried before. I like to sprinkle these on all sorts of things – salads, soups, stir-fries, etc. But, I find that I forget to add them 90% of the time. I’m tempted to get a cute little shaker bottle to keep them in so I can have it on the counter for easy access.

Coconut Oil Hair Mask – St. Tropica

This organic, natural, cruelty-free, vegan and BPA free hair mask helps keep your hair hydrated by repairing damaged hair and stimulating hair growth.

I just received this in another subscription box, but I am actually really excited to have another pack of it. My hair desperately needs this right now. I haven’t had a chance to try it yet, but I did a little research and it gets great reviews.

6 pack – Pukka Tea

A collection of Pukka Tea’s for you to enjoy throughout the Holidays. They are organic, vegan, gluten free and dairy free.

I am always happy to see tea in my subscription boxes. These will be added to my tea station. I’m really quite excited about some of the flavours.

Iron Kids Bars – 4 pack – Element Nutrition

Made with clean ingredients, these snack bars will give you real energy on the go! They are nut free, gluten free, vegan and non GMO!

I kind of feel like a hoarder when it comes to granola bars, I keep them everywhere. I get grumpy when I am hungry, and the BF is 6’7 and eats like a horse, so I always have bars available – purse, my car, his truck, gym bag, etc. These ones in particular are probably meant for kids lunch boxes, and they would be perfect for that seeing as they are peanut free.

Bonus Tree Ornament

Awe, how cute is this! I put it on my tree last night. I actually really love the style of this ornament. I kind of want ten more of them.

Little Life Box Review December 2016 – Final Thoughts

This month’s Little Life Box doesn’t have the wow factor that some of their other boxes have had lately, but I still really enjoyed unboxing it. They included some really useful items for us vegans – the sesame seeds and the calcium tablets. And, it was very nice of them to include a cute little tree ornament. Now that I think about it, all of the items are very useful. I won’t be gifting any of them. So maybe that’s where the “wow” factor comes into play. The December Little Life Box didn’t get me with the first impression, but it provided a lasting impression.

XOXO
