Luxe Box Review Spring 2017

Luxe Box members receive a seasonal Luxe Box with 7 to 8 trial-sized beauty and lifestyle items picked by our beauty editors and enjoy complimentary shipping to their preferred address. Members also get exclusive access to private events, product launches and beauty tips and tutorials to help them stay trendy, every season.

I have really been enjoying Luxe Box as of late. I think they have turned things around and for lack of a better phrase, have gotten their crap together. Quite a few of the products from my Winter Box have become regulars in my beauty routine. They have been including some really great brands, and the value has been noteworthy.

Keep in mind that this box only ships quarterly and is $26 per box. Shipping is free and they allow you to fill out a beauty profile upon subscription.

Here’s a look at the items I received in my Spring Luxe Box:

Doucce Click Lipstick

Total impact lipstick that gives off a highly pigmented sheer and creamy finish. The lightweight non-sticky formula glides on effortlessly providing medium to full coverage. Enriched with soothing and moisturizing elements, the smooth texture feels sensually soft and comfortable all day. The unique and modern “click” mechanism ensures that the lipstick stays closed while not in use.

Love, love, love this color. There’s good red lipstick and bad red lipstick. This is definitely good red. I’m also very familiar with the Doucce brand and have been quite happy with all of their products thus far.

Nova Scotia Fisherman Fundy Clay & Mint Soap

Shiver me timbers we have Fundy Clay & Mint soap that will stimulate and restore renew your senses. Kaolin Clay, Kelp and Mint help balance oily skin without over drying.

I feel like we have received this before but I’m not sure if it was in their regular box or one of their limited edition boxes. I get Top Box, Luxe Box and Top Box Collective boxes confused. I really need to keep better track.

Eyeko Eye Do Liquid Eyeliner

Intense single stroke waterproof carbon black colour . Easy-to-use precision tip creates the perfect line to subtly accentuate the eye or create a dramatic cat eye. Glides on over eye shadow and stays on even on the waterline.

This might be the only item I’m not excited about but it’s only because I don’t wear liquid liner. I find the line it produces to be too harsh for my liking. I prefer a very soft, blended line along my lashes. That’s not to say this isn’t a great product though, because it is.

Cake Desserted Island body Mousse

Indulge your bod in Tahitian vanilla and coconut. Blender drinks & pool boy not included. A richly whipped body lotion with extreme hydrators that leave skin lightly scented and highly moisturized.

I am ALWAYS happy to receive Cake products. They smell amazing…..all off them. I haven’t met a Cake product I haven’t liked. This body mousse smells like Summer.

Novex Bamboo Sprout Leave in Conditioner

Eeek!!! I’ve been waiting for this to pop up in another beauty box. We received it in our January Beauty Box 5, but Shonah reviewed that one and I was super jealous after seeing this product in the box. I’m very happy to have my own bottle. I’ve been testing out different hair repair products lately and this one sounds like it could potentially do the job……repair and nourish that is.

The Beauty Crop Lighting Crew

Our Lighting Crew Highlighting Cream is a personal lighting crew in a tube designed to turn up the Wow factor to your look. You can also use it under your foundation or mix it with a body lotion for an all-over glow.

This is a new brand for me and that’s very exciting. After reviewing beauty boxes for more than 4 years, I don’t receive “new” brands as often as I use to. I will probably use this on the inner corner of my eyes but like that it can also be mixed with lotion for an all-over glow.

Seche Vite Top Coat

Bring your manicure to life with Seche Vive. This specially formulated fast drying top coat delivers the plumping effect of a gel in a glossy, high shine nish without the use of a UV/LED light! The salon worthy manicure removes easily with any acetone or non acetone nail polish remover.

This is a tiny little bottle. I would have prefered full-size, and a pretty Spring shade, instead of a top coat. But that’s just me being extremely picky.

Benefit they’re real! Mascara

they’re real! lengthens, curls, volumizes, lifts and separates. Our jet black, long-wearing formula won’t smudge or dry out. A specially designed brush reveals lashes you never knew you had!

I love to see brands like this in my beauty boxes. They add value and excitement. Benefit is one of my favourite makeup brands, and mascara is something I rarely leave the house without.

These are our bonus items for the month. I don’t recall them doing this in the last couple boxes. I wonder if it is a new feature. Regardless, I love it! I’m one of those people who loves to see sponsored products in beauty boxes. I personally think it is a great idea. Some people would disagree with me and I’m not sure why. Sponsored products, 9 times out of 10, are essentials. Or in other words, they are household staples. Who can’t use a new toothbrush and travel size bottles of shampoo and conditioner?

Luxe Box Review Spring 2017 – Final Thoughts

Once again I am extremely happy with my Luxe Box. They have really stepped their game up and it doesn’t look like they will be slowing down anytime soon. If I am being super picky I would have liked to see a full-size bottle of polish rather than the mini bottle of top coat, but other than that I am happy with all of the items. A full-size bottle of a Spring coloured polish would have taken this box from really good to amazing. But I really shouldn’t complain. I love the bonus items and hope that it is a feature we will see on a regular basis. Beauty necessities add value to a box, in my opinion.

Now that I have Luxe Box figured out, I feel like I should give Top Box another shot. I haven’t reviewed it since the merger and am very interested to see if the complaints are valid. Some subscribers claim to receive the same items in both boxes. I feel like it’s something I should explore.
