I absolutely, 100%, LOVED the last Mapleblume box. I use four out of the five products on a daily basis. The facial serum is absolutely amazing and I can see myself purchasing it on a regular basis going forward. The body scrub is easily the best body scrub I have ever used. The mascara works perfect on my lashes and the lip gloss adds just the right amount of color to my lips. Seriously, it is one of the best beauty boxes I have ever received.
Today we are looking at the August box and I can’t wait to see what kind of beauty treats they sent us this month.
August Theme – Naturally Beautiful
This month’s theme is Naturally Beautiful. It looks like we have a box full of natural skincare essentials – body oil, sunscreen, deodorant, and toner.
Here’s a look at the items we received this month:
Suntegrity Natural Moisturizing Face Sunscreen & Primer ($58)
Suntegrity moisturizing face sunscreen is a rich, non-greasy, “UV chemical-free” sunscreen that offers Broad Spectrum Protection against damaging UVA & UVB rays. Infused with youth promoting antioxidants, this 3 in 1 Suntegrity Skincare product functions as a face moisturizer, sunscreen and make-up primer all in one. Hyaluronic acid, astaxanthin, red algae and Certified Organic: aloe vera, jojoba, sunflower, pomegranate, cucumber, and green tea help provide additional sun protection, moisture and hydration. Non-nano sized zinc-oxide not only protects the skin from the damaging UVA and UVB rays, but it also soothes and calms the skin. Zinc-oxide is known for it’s anti-inflammatory properties that often help skin conditions like rosacea, acne, and melasma.
This sunscreen has a ton of great ingredients and a lot of benefits. The fact that it is a 3 in 1 makes me very happy. Multitasking products mean I can have fewer items in my beauty cabinet.
Luna Nectar The Moonstone Tonic for Lashes & Brows ($75)
A proprietary elixir of all-natural, organic cold-pressed oils, vitamins, and phytonutrients to enhance the thickness, length, and volume of your lashes and brows.
Lash tonics are all the rage right now. I like the idea of enhancing my lashes as it means I can wear mascara less often. To use you simply swipe on upper lashline and down the length of your lashes. Use every night before sleep for best results.
Abbey Lane Farm Body Oil ($20)
Formulated with apricot kernel, fractionated coconut and jojoba oil, this light, deeply nourishing body oil is gentle and leaves skin satiny smooth without a greasy feel. Scented with pure essential oils blends.
Orange & Vanilla: an aromatic essential oil blend of orange, vanilla, clary sage & cedarwood.
This is the item I am most excited about in the box. I am very familiar with Abbey Lane Farm products, I have used them in the past, but this will be my first time testing out their body oil. I like to use body oil on the back of my arms and legs as it keeps them soft and free of bumps. Until now I have been using an unscented oil and have been waiting to find a vanilla-scented version………and here it is!
Ilia Beauty Multi-Stick ($40)
In search of sienna red, this particular Multi-Stick was inspired by the colors of Tuscany. Rich and warm in color, Cheek to Cheek is a great all in one that particularly compliments olive and darker skin tones. 100% natural dye
ILIA Multi-Sticks combine organic ingredients with the healing properties of Vitamin E and Shea Butter. Apply to cheeks, lips and eyes for a sheer blush of color.
I love that this multi-stick is made with 100% natural dye. The color I received has a bit of an orange tint to it, which isn’t necessarily my favourite, but I’m still really excited to try it. Cream blush is so much better than powdered blush.
Wildcraft Geranium Orange Blossom Toner ($16)
Designed to uplift the skin, this toner will leave your skin feeling dewy and fresh. Clears any excess makeup or dirt before moisturizing. Will refine the appearance of your pores and make your skin glow. Ideal for combination to dry skin.
Directions of use: Mist face between cleansing and moisturizing, or simply to refresh on a hot day or during travel. Can be a quick substitute for cleansing.
Until a couple of months ago I wasn’t really a fan of toners or face mists. But, I started using a rose face mist last month and actually really love it. I like to use them before applying my moisturizer or as a refresher during the day.
Province Apothecary Calm Down Therapeutic Roll On ($32)
We all have our stressful days, when a million thoughts race through our heads, a million things need to get done, and we cannot stop the racing clock. Our Therapeutic Roll On puts an end to the rush and helps relieve anxiety, panic, worry, and stress. Mandarin calms irritability, nervousness, stress, and anxiety. Bergamot and Frankincense relax the mind and body. Neroli relieves chronic anxiety and stress. Roman Chamomile calms and relieves irritation and irritability.
This is exactly what I needed!! Life has been a little too stressful lately and I am more than ready to get back to living a simple, carefree life. This little roll-on will be a nice little reminder to relax and will help me when the anxiety sets in. I love products like this.
Mabrook & Co Clean Deodorant ($16)
Our Clean Deodorant combats odour by combining pure, natural, and organic ingredients in the most powerful and safe formula possible. This product contains NO parabens, phthalates, propylene glycol, petrochemicals, aluminum, or toxins.
Directions: Apply product to clean underarms; allow product to absorb for maximal efficacy. Please test product on your skin prior to use; discontinue use if rash or irritation occurs.
I always get so excited when I see natural deodorant in my boxes. This is one of those products that really needs to be tested before committing to a particular brand. Not all natural deodorants work, and some of them will work for certain people and not for others. Thanks to subscription boxes I’ve found two natural deodorants that I like, but I am always happy to test another one. This is the PERFECT product for a box with a natural beauty theme.
Mapleblume Review August 2017 – Final Thoughts
Mapleblume is one of the best luxury beauty subscription boxes on the market. It has become my go-to subscription for discovering new products. Some of my all-time favourite products have come from this box. As I mentioned above, I am currently using four of the five items from the last Mapleblume box. I really like the direction they are heading. Each box has been better than the last, they seem to be focusing more on natural beauty, and the value is always amazing. When it comes to natural beauty products I am more than willing to spend a little more money. If you feel the same way I do then this is the perfect box for you. Feel good about the products you use on your body……you only get one.
