Merkaela Review Summer 2018
Merkaela is a quarterly subscription box that makes wellness and tranquility easy to experience. Their all-natural health and wellness products, delivered right to your door each quarter, are made on site with ingredients you can pronounce and know. They are made with you in mind and formulated to nourish your body, your mind and your spirit. They kindly sent us this box for review.
I don’t know about you but I am very conscious about the items I put in and on my body. My skin has gotten to the point where it can tell a good product from a bad product. I am constantly reading ingredients and I am constantly looking for the best products to use when it comes to my skin, whether it be moisturizer, scrubs, soaps, you name it. That’s where Merkaela comes in. I’ve had the pleasure of reviewing their subscription a few times now and I really love their products.
Summer Box: Evolve
Nature is our true teacher. Nature nurtures, heals and shows us the way if we pay attention. Nature is referred to as the ancestors, the wisdom keeper and the elders. Throughout history we have evolved into who we are today, yet we seem to overlook the one thing that remains constant: spirit. Spirit is our life force, our force field, our source of energy. It is what keeps us going every day. Once we are able to tap into the source of pure potential, most (if not all) of our discomforts will disappear.
Beyond that, science has confirmed we are a microcosm of the macrocosm. In other words, our atoms mirror the universe on a subatomic level. Let us take a moment to understand that nothing is random.
As a matter of fact the universe and life’s beautiful design is something to bewilder. Yes, it is beyond our comprehension. In fact, the spark of life that resides within us, the source of energy that flows within us is what makes it possible.
What is spark exactly? It is said that love can move mountains, and love is driven by passion. So, let us tap into the rich soils that already exist within us. When we choose to open our hearts, we tap into the richness of our spirit. By doing so, we are all capable of experiencing the utmost personal evolution. So, if you feel called to go ahead, make time to mediate, become the observer, and dive into your heart, the force field. Confirm this for yourself, surrender to your personal evolution.
Here’s a closer look at the items we received in the Summer Merkaela Box……
Merkaela Zen Stones ($15)
Five wooden stacking zen stones. Stacking stones is known around the world as a creative, focus-building, meditative and stress-relieving activity. Try counting up to five and back down to one as you slowly stack to refocus your mind, or deeply inhale and exhale as you pick up and release each stone to reduce stress.
How fun is this first item?! We have never received anything like this in our Merkaela boxes and I am loving it. These zen stones are the perfect accessory for my work desk. What a great excuse to take a few minutes each day to zone out and relieve some stress.
Sacred Sage ($6)
A natural purifier, Sage eliminates harmful bacteria from the air. Sage can transform the energy of the body and mind and support the feng shui or energy of a home. In addition to clearing the energy of a space, it can heal holes in the aura and keep them balanced.
To be totally honest, I had my fingers crossed that we would receive sage in the Summer box and here it is. I haven’t used an air purifier for quite some time and I think I am about due. When it comes to smudge stickers sage is my favourite and I feel like it’s exactly what my house needs right now.
Lemongrass Elixir ($18.50)
Step into a blissful and calming state. The citrusy scent of lemongrass will leave you feeling cleansed and serene, freeing you up to explore a pure meditative pleasure. Spray it anywhere to instantly clear your aura and create a calming, sacred space. Best used with your affirmation during a meditation practice.
To be totally honest (again) I haven’t given sprays the attention they deserve over the last year. I have received quite a few different brands and scents and I have casually dismissed most of them. I’m not really sure why I don’t pay more attention to spray products like this but I really need to get my act together. They are a great way to calm, de-stress, energize and refresh. I am going to make a conscious effort to use this one on a daily basis.
Clever Herbal Tea Ritual ($8.50)
An advanced herbal tonic that improves overall health, stimulates the mind and boosts your concentration and memory. While the Gotu Kola, Gingko and Eleuthero Root enhance your mental abilities, the Damiana, Peppermint, Calendula and Ho Shou Wu awaken the body’s energy. A touch of lemongrass and licorice brings balance to this herbal medley. The complete herbal tonic is dedicated to elevate your mind and boost overall health.
I feel like the Summer Merkaela box is full of little reminders. Reminders to de-stress, reminders to use calming sprays, and reminders to drink tea. I am a HUGE fan of tea but as I sit here and look at this beautiful blend I am reminded of the fact that I haven’t made a pot of tea in quite some time. Maybe it’s the warm weather, but regardless, I need to get back on my tea train and I will start with this Clever Herbal Tea Ritual.
Elderflower Exfoliator ($18)
The elderflower salt exfoliator polishes your skin while hydrating it. The exfoliator is rich in nutrients, such as vitamin A and C, and brimmed with mineral-rich, detoxifying and anti-inflammatory ingredients. The elderflowers act as a natural astringent, promoting blood circulation. This restorative formula naturally provides your body with much needed magnesium, leaving skin feeling soft and supple.
We usually receive some sort of scrub in our Merkaela boxes and aside from their body butter it is one of my favourite products from their line. I don’t think I have ever used a scrub made with elderflower so I am really looking forward to testing this one out. I save my Merkaela scrubs for bath time but I’m not sure if I will be able to put off testing this one out……it’s in my shower as we speak.
Sweet Orange Soap Bar ($9.50)
Rise and shine, your morning showers just got a little brighter . The cheerful aroma from the sweet orange will get you started feeling your best. This rich soap is handmade from natural oils and herbal extracts to restore your skin. Its luxurious bubbles will leave you cleansed and super happy.
Yes!! I love this! Orange is one of the best scents to wake up to and I was in need of a new bar of soap for the shower.
Tangerine & Sage Body Butter ($25)
The citrusy herbaceous scent of Tangerine and Sage is an ideal synergetic blend that inspires ease and positive emotions. The butters and oils calm the body, melting the stress away and restoring tranquility. It is handmade with exceptional healing botanical ingredients that moisturize, nourish and soothe the skin at the deepest levels.
If I had to choose just one item to receive from Merkaela it would definitely be their body butter. This one smells amazing thanks to the combination of tangerine and sage and it will be perfect when paired with the soap and scrub. Their butters tend to be a tad bit oily but they smell amazing and moisturize my skin wonderfully.

Love in every cell of my body, peace in every cell of my body, awareness in every cell of my body. And so be it.
Merkaela Review Summer 2018 – Final Thoughts
I always feel so happy and content after unboxing my Merkaela boxes. It has been a few months since my last review and I almost forgot how much I enjoy this subscription. If you appreciate natural skincare products as much as I do then you NEED this box in your life. Their products are not only high-quality, they also smell amazing and the packaging is gorgeous. I love that we received a bonus item this month – the Zen Stones – and I love all the other products as well. I can’t wait for tomorrow morning when I get to put all my new Merkaela products to use. The soap, scrub, and body butter might not last long as I will be using them on a daily basis over the next few weeks. Oh…..and if you are wondering about the price point, it’s pretty darn reasonable when you think about it. Quality skincare items like this can be expensive. Overall, Merkaela is pretty darn amazing.
