ModaBox Review March 2017

ModaBox is, simply put, the Birchbox meets Netflix for women’s clothing and accessories. ModaBox combines fashion and technology to transform women’s homes into the ultimate fitting room. They kindly sent us this box for review.

This will be my very first time reviewing ModaBox and I absoutely could not wait for it to arrive in the mail. It was so hard not to rip into the box the minute the mailman dropped it off at the door. As you can tell, I am a huge fan of fashion styling services. Boxes like this are a great way for me to get my fashion fix each month without having to step foot in the mall.

ModaBox – How It Works
  1. Create a style profile – Take our Style Profile Quiz and share your unique preferences with our team of Stylists. Select a Box Tier.
  2. Get styled by an expert – Match with your very own Expert Stylist who will curate fully customized outfits fit for your lifestyle.
  3. Try from home, keep what you love – Take time to discover the looks from the comfort of your own home and try-on with your existing wardrobe.
ModaBox Subscription Options

When you sign up for a ModaBox delivery, you can choose from the following options:

  • The “Select” box contains 2 outfits (5-day try-on period, 10% off full box purchase)
  • The “Premier” box contains 4 outfits (7-day try-on period, 15% off full box purchase)
  • The “Luxe” box contains 6+ outfits (7-day try-on period, 20% off full box purchase)

This month I am reviewing the Select Box. Here’s a look at the outfits my stylist put together for me:

Outfit #1 – Long Sleeve Top, Cardigan, Skinny Jeans
Bass Long Sleeve Cloud Combo ($59)
Karson & Taylor Longline Cardigan ($69)
Mavi Jeans Mid Rise Super Skinny Jeans ($98)

This outfit is absolutely perfect. It’s exactly what I was hoping to find in my first ModaBox. I asked for cute outfits that are both casual and comfortable. Since I spend most of my time working from home I don’t really have a need to dress up. I live in skinny jeans, cute tops and cozy cardigans. This first outfit fits my style preferences perfectly.

Outfit #2 – Peplum Tank, Lace Blouse, Cardigan, Skinny Jeans
Jessica Simpson Peplum Tank ($49.50)
C&C Lace Trim Blouse ($59)
525 America Long Sleeve Cardigan ($69)
Jessica Simpson Skinny Jeans ($59.90)

This second outfit is a little out of my comfort zone, but super cute nonetheless. Every item fits me perfectly, and I can definitely see myself wearing all 4 pieces. I just think I would prefer to wear them on their own, paired with something I currently have in my closet, rather than wearing all four pieces together. And…. the peplum tank will be perfect in the summer paired with denim shorts and gladiator sandals.

Additional Item – Cold Shoulder Floral Dress
As U Wish Cold Shoulder Floral Dress ($89)

My stylist included an addition item in my first box, and I am super glad they did. I have a weakness for loose-fitting, floral dresses right now. They are easy to throw on and dress up. But they are also very cute with a denim jacket and pair of Converse.

ModaBox Review March 2017 – Final Thoughts

For my very first experience with ModaBox I couldn’t be happier. My stylist definitely listened to my requests and sent me items that are cute and comfortable. The first outfit is a no-brainer, I absolutely love it. It couldn’t be more perfect. The second outfit isn’t as perfect as the first, but it definitely has potential. There’s always a trial period with styling services anyways. Your stylist needs a box or two to get use to your style, receive feedback, and tweak your preferences. For my next box I will update my style profile. I will probably put an emphasis on neutral colours and oversized pieces. All-in-all I am very happy and would definitely recommend this service. I should also point out that ModaBox has the best customer services out of the 3 styling boxes I have tried thus far. I can’t wait to review another box!

  1. Leslie says:

Is there a styling fee with a purchase of at least one item, many services are $20? On top of the 10 percent if you buy all the pieces? Can you request a budget range too? Good review and cute clothes!

    1. Thank you so much:) As far as I know there isn’t a styling fee at all, and when you fill out your profile they do ask you your price range for certain pieces.
