August Box Details

The August Nourish Beauty Box theme is centered around sun-drenched skin.

You thought that summer was over? Think again! If it was up to us, this season would be twice as long. But, let’s not forget that your sun-drenched skin needs extra care during these months. Products that go easy on your complexion, relieve them of the daily pollutants and keep them fresh and hydrated are exactly the thing we carefully curated in our August box.

Summer is the best season and it always goes too fast! How is it August already?! This month’s Nourish Beauty Box will help you savor the remaining days of this fleeing season by reminding you to take care of that skin that’s likely gotten more sun exposure than it’s been used to. The products will soothe skin, keep skin cool and dry and enhance that summer glow you might have gained.

Here’s a look at what was in this month’s box:

Seraphine Botanicals Happy Hibiscus 99% Natural Blush Palette ($48)

You’re going to obsess over Happy Hibiscus, a natural, corn starch-based vegan blush quad by Seraphine Botanicals. Made with soothing kaolin and hibiscus extract which are both known for their ability to help control oily skin. The colors are gorgeously designed to range from rusty floral shades to a soft-glow peach finished with an almost glittery highlight that will pop your checks.

The colors in this palette are so pretty and so perfect for late summer! They would especially help enhance that summer glow in a perfectly natural way. The two mid-tone colors have a bit of extra shimmer that would be good to use as a cheekbone highlighter. One is a bit more peachy and one is a bit more rosey. The darkest looking color is more of a bronze and still has a bit of shimmer while the lightest color is a pinky-rose and would be great for those of us that haven’t picked up much of a tan. This blush is ultra soft and applies easily. I like that this product is 99% natural and made without parabens and phthalates. All ingredients check out as relatively clean so you can feel good about putting this on your skin.

Peony Cosmetics Clean Earth Water-Activated Dry Clay Cleanser ($25)

After a long summer music festival, or whenever you need a little face-cleansing magic you must reach for Clean Earth by Peony Cosmetics. You’re gonna love the zesty aroma and how soft and immaculate this water-activated potion will leave your skin.

I like the concept of this dry cleanser. It almost looks like a mask and has some of the same benefits of a mask (like pulling out impurities and exfoliating) but is intended to be used as a cleanser. All you do is pour a bit into the palm of your hand and activate with a little bit of water to mix, then transfer on to skin and gently rub in a circular motion before rinsing with plenty of water. Bentonite clay helps cleanse and exfoliate, Norwegian seaweed and bamboo powder help to draw out impurities and remove dead skin cells and epsom salt along with orange oil help to soften skin. The orange oil gives this a fresh scent too! This would be great to travel with because there would be no risk of leaking in your bag!

Bear’s Beauty Feminine Deodorant Spray in “Sweet Petals” ($24)

Bear’s Beauty is our newest discovery that rolls solely in handmade, organic, vegan and cruelty-free products. They’ll show off their Sweet Petals Feminine Spray that will do wonders around your private parts. Use it after shaving to calm skin, or after an intense workout to regulate B.O. This travel-friendly spray will be your go-to product for the summer for sure.

This is a type of product I’ve never tried so I was glad to receive in this month’s box. It’s a deodorizing spray intended for your nether regions to keep everything down there fresh and cool. Just being straightforward, it’s not always the easiest to keep things cool in the summer months so this will be an interesting product to test out. It can also be used to prevent irritation on freshly shaven skin. It’s made with mostly organic ingredients including, probiotics (neutralizes odor), witch hazel, hemp seed oil and essential oil blend that smells somewhat citrusy and a little bit spicy.

Nourish Nails Water-based Nail Polish in “Choose Joy” ($12.50)

August brings a bright and eye-catching red shade named “Patience” by Nourish Nails. It is vivid with a touch of orange-y undertone that gives an almost fruity finish to your nails.

Nothing says “Summer” like a bright and punchy nail color! This one sure delivers on that. It’s a bright fruity orange color that will surely make your nails stand out and brighten up your day. It’s a great color to transition later summer to early fall too, so keep using it beyond August into September to extend those summer vibes. If I ever paint my nails I generally put brighter colors on my toes so perhaps that’s what I’d do with this one. It would make for a super fresh looking pedicure for sure.

Nourish Beauty Box Review August 2018 – Final Thoughts

I like seeing new products from familiar brands. Last month’s box included items from Seraphine, Peony Cosmetics and Nourish Nails (this one I’m certain is included in all boxes) but they were totally different so it’s nice to try more of a product’s range. I like that at least one of the products was a completely new brand too because I love discovering new brands even more than trying one company’s product range. I can’t say I’m looking forward to the end of the summer but I’m definitely looking forward to trying these products out before the season winds down.
