July Box Details

The July Nourish Beauty Box theme is centered around nature, specifically the seaside (as you’ll notice with all the pretty blue and aqua hues).

Experience color & skincare inspired by nature. Let the floral essences and hues of the seaside take you to an unforgettable, skin-enhancing journey.

My favorite place is anywhere by the ocean and I think one of the main reasons is the beautiful blue colors of the water. When I opened this month’s box I didn’t even have to look at the card to know the theme was related to the sea so I loved it immediately! There’s something undeniably calming about the ocean and the products in this month’s box seem as though they’ll help transport you to that place without having to leave your home.

Here’s a look at what was in this month’s box:

Seraphine Botanicals Blue Chamomile + Nectar Nourishing Skin Oil ($54)

Seraphine Botanicals is introducing their high-grade face serum, Blue Chamomile + Nectar made with Blue Chamomile and Rose Geranium. This beautifully smelling concoction really cares for your complexion, making it feel soft, smooth & thoroughly hydrated. For best results we recommend using it daily after cleansing on slightly damp skin.

This face oils is made with pure botanical plant oils that are intended to calm skin irritation and encourage regeneration. This would be especially good for those with fussy, inflamed or dry skin. Rose geranium, one of the main ingredients, helps balance both oily and dry skin and helps improve circulation. Blue chamomile, the ingredient responsible for the beautiful blue color of this oil, is ultra calming and soothing to skin while helping to maintain a healthy inflammatory response. This oil not only is the prettiest blue color, but is also smells amazing. It reminds me of the calming floral scent of chamomile tea but with a hint of floral and citrus mixed it. I’m excited to try this facial oil and see how it works to combat some breakouts I have going on right now.

Wonder Bloom in “Blue Hyacinth” by Peony ($15)

Wonder Bloom in “Blue Hyacinth” by Peony is perfect to create a charismatic eye look that radiates confidence and expresses your free spirit. Its unique 100% vegan formula is so soft, almost creamy which makes it easy to apply even with your ring finger.

Could there be a more sea-inspired duo of colors? I don’t think so! The sea and sand colors in this eyeshadow set may look a bit intimidating but they are actually rather subtle if you apply them lightly as a dry shadow. The blue is a bit icy and cool while the bronze color is warmer and looks just like a light bronze metal. If you want the colors to be deeper and bolder you can layer on additional product to your desired tone or apply wet for extra oomph. Both colors are shimmery and have a creamy texture. This shadow is paraben, gluten and cruelty-free. I would like to note that it’s not completely free of ingredients that can irritate skin, so for me this one would be saved for use on special occasions.

Sugar Body Buffer by CRUSHCOSMETICS ($15)

Take a deep breath and inhale the sweet vanilla scent emanating from this gorgeous Sugar Body Buffer by CRUSHCOSMETICS. The product arrives solid but melts so easily between your palms. Use a little spoon to scoop out the product or just gently rub your fingertips onto the mango butter-based goodie and transfer it onto your skin with a circular motion to give your skin moisture, glow and remove surface pollutants. Rinse it with warm water.

I love a good body scrub, especially ones that smell like a vanilla cupcake! This scrub not only has a delicious scent but is made with many skin nourishing ingredients. Sugar will help buff away dead skin cells, shea butter moisturizes and heals skin, jojoba oil softens skin and helps provide a protective barrier and meadowform oil is moisturizing and is high in anti-oxidants. My one downside on this product is that it’s a bit messy. It really isn’t too big of a problem since it’s used in the shower but since it does state that it’s a solid that melts to liquid I wanted to note that the oils in my jar don’t harden up unless put into the refrigerator. Not a deal breaker, but wanted to note.

Nourish Nails Water-based Nail Polish in “Choose Joy” ($12.50)

Nourish Nails is giving you beach realness with its deep ocean blue nail polish “Choose Joy”. Project wisdom, inner strength and infinite holiday vibes and when you need a change, just dip it in water and peel it. It’s that easy!

I don’t often paint my nails but this blue is so bright and the name is so upbeat (and a good reminder too!) that I might just polish them up. One of the reasons I don’t often paint my nails is that polishes can often contain unnecessary and potentially harmful ingredients. What I appreciate about this specific brand is that it’s water-based meaning that it’s gentler and it’s high shine coating is both air and water permeable. That’s a great benefit because it allows oxygen to still reach the nail bed keeping nails healthy and strong while reducing discoloration. It’s also formulated without formaldehyde, toluene, DBP, formaldehyde resin, parabens, xylene, camphor, mineral oil, phthalates, sodium lauryl sulfates, gluten, phenoxyethanol, lead, nitrocellulose, GMOs and animal-derived ingredients. This polish is exclusively sold by the company that curates the boxes and it appears a new color comes with each box – Fun!

Nourish Beauty Box Review July 2018 – Final Thoughts

This was my very first Nourish Beauty Box and I really liked it! The value of this box is over $96 and the items are all full size. Like I mentioned above, I LOVE the ocean so I’m really into anything that reminds me of it. I think the colors of the cosmetics in this box will help push me out of my comfort zone too (hello bright blue nails!). Even though I mentioned that I don’t often paint my nails I appreciate how each month’s box includes a new color of their exclusive, gentle polish formulated without the harmful ingredients in conventional polishes. It’s fun to be inspired by new products you don’t often use! I’m looking forward to what’s included in future boxes!
