Meet the Pin Maker: Ted and Kip by Anna Carroll-Smith

This month’s pin is the creation of Anna Carroll-Smith, the artist and designer behind Ted & Kip. Anna is based by the seaside in the sunny south of the UK. Her slightly grumpy, weird geometric animal illustrations are actually happy souls who believe in love, kindness and equality. Ted & Kip came about after Anna decided to leave her grey boring day job and follow her love for all things creative (a passion that started at a young age when her great grandmother taught her how to knit). The name Ted & Kip is important to her as it is the names of her two small children who constantly inspire her with their love of colour, unicorns and the absurd. When she is not sat on her sofa, iPad and pencil in hand, Anna likes to collect vinyl toys (and is madly obsessed with Sonny Angels). Her favourite meal is breakfast and she quite often eats chocolate biscuits for dinner.

Here’s a look at the items we received in the September box….

Bentoy Heartbreaker Purse ($18)

First up we have this awesome purse. It is definitely throwing off some 80’s vibes which makes me love it.

Ted & Kip Enamel Pin ($10)

This pin is everything. It is unique, quirky and cute all at the same time.

Unicorn Tweezers ($3)

I thought I loved my rose gold tweezers but these are ten times better. They will be going in my makeup bag ASAP.

Dinosaur Socks ($9)

These are the cutest little socks. I love that they are classic white socks with a dino on them rather than a patterned sock like we receive so often in other subscription boxes.

Bentoy Wallet ($15)

This wallet is the definition of quirky. It’s not really something I would use personally, but my nieces are definitely going to fight over it.

Frog & Toad Press Patch ($5)

Cold Pizza Club!! Yes please. If I wasn’t vegan I would eat cold pizza for breakfast every day for the rest of my life. And I would rock this patch on my favourite denim jacket.

Sanrio Gudetama Stickers ($3)

Lastly we have some quirky stickers, which round out the box nicely.

Quirky Crate Review September 2017 – Final Thoughts

Quirky Crate is like a breath of fresh air in a world full of makeup and lifestyle subscription boxes. I absolutely love the idea behind this box and the fact that they include radical, quirky, hard-to-find items. I will admit, not all of these items are exactly my taste, but I love them nonetheless. It’s fun to receive unique products, whether they suit my taste or not. I have no doubt that my nieces will love the items I don’t get use out of, and like I mentioned above it’s a nice change from the boxes I usually review. And……have you seen the October Quirky Crate spoiler?? It is AH-MAZING!!! I am beyond excited and can’t wait to review it for you guys.

XOXO
