Here’s a closer look at our September spices…….

Blackened Fish: Cajun Culinary Spice Kit

Our new Cajun blend is tailored to prepare a blackened fish or poultry. Blackening seals the juice in the fish or meat in the seasoning crust. Use an outside grill to avoid a kitchen filled with smoke. Though, blackening is not required to make a delicious dinner with this Cajun blend. Traditional frying work great too.

The Blackened Culinary Spice Kit includes the following spices: Paprika, garlic, yellow mustard, onions, black peppercorns, oregano, cumin, cayenne, thyme, bay leaves, celery seeds.

Tabletop Spice of the Month: Nigella

Nigella, also called black cumin, spread from Southern Europe to North Africa, Middle East, and India. It’s best used by adding the whole seeds to a finished dish. Try some of our recipe inspirations.

Buddha Bowl: Asian Culinary Spice Kit

The ‘Buddha Bowl’ is a contemporary trend of colorful vegetarian one-bowl meals. Crisp quinoa balls with nigella seeds are the stars of our vegetable bowl finished with an orange ginger dressing.

The Buddha Bowl Culinary Spice Kit includes the following spices: Coarse brown mustard, nigella seeds.

Shakshuka: Israeli Culinary Spice Kit

The origin of Shakshuka might be in Turkey, Spain, or Tunisia. The Israeli version with a beautiful top of poached eggs became famous around the world. This flavorful tomato stew with vegetables has usually a bit of heat. Our Turkish Marash pepper flakes add more flavor than heat.

The Shakshuka Culinary Spice Kit includes the following spices:

  1. Cumin, paprika, Marash pepper
  2. Sesame, sumac, coriander, thyme, cumin, black pepper
SpiceBreeze Review September 2018 – Final Thoughts

I am really loving the September spices, as well as the recipes that go with them. SpiceBreeze put together a great little spice collection this month and they did something different – they included a Tabletop Spice of the Month and provided us with a few different ways in which we can use it. I am really, really looking forward to making the Buddha Bowl for myself and the Blackened Fish for the Husband. If you are looking for an inexpensive Christmas gift……look no further. This would make a great little stocking stuffer for anyone who loves spending time in the kitchen.

XOXO
