Too Much Monday Review September 2017

Too Much Monday is a book & relaxation club in a box for today’s busy women. Their aim is to remind women to assign priority to their well being. In this way she can be a better mother, wife, sister, daughter and friend. For many of us, self care comes in last on our list of priorities. As book lovers they think the best way to relax is to sit down with a book. Their box is a little monthly reminder to just sit down every couple of days to read for 15-30 mins…grab a cup of tea…do a face mask, etc. They kindly sent us this box for review.

Eeek! I LOVE book subscription boxes. They are definitely at the top of my list when it comes to favourite sub box categories. I love receiving books in the mail because the book store overwhelms me. I never know where to start and usually end up leaving empty-handed. I like the idea of someone else picking out books for me.

Here’s a closer look at the items we received in our very first Too Much Monday box…..

Book Pick of the Month – Landline

Georgie McCool knows her marriage is in trouble; it has been in trouble for a long time. She still loves her husband, Neal, and Neal still loves her, deeply — but that almost seems beside the point now.

Maybe that was always beside the point.

Two days before they’re supposed to visit Neal’s family in Omaha for Christmas, Georgie tells Neal that she can’t go. She’s a TV writer, and something’s come up on her show; she has to stay in Los Angeles. She knows that Neal will be upset with her — Neal is always a little upset with Georgie — but she doesn’t expect him to pack up the kids and go home without her.

When her husband and the kids leave for the airport, Georgie wonders if she’s finally done it. If she’s ruined everything.

That night, Georgie discovers a way to communicate with Neal in the past. It’s not time travel, not exactly, but she feels like she’s been given an opportunity to fix her marriage before it starts…

Is that what she’s supposed to do?

Or would Georgie and Neal be better off if their marriage never happened?

Lavender & Champagne Bath Bomb

Bath bombs and books go together like pb and jelly. When I think of bath bombs I think of warm baths, good books and wine. This one smells lovely.

Tea & Treats

I love that they included just a small sampling of tea and candy. This is the perfect amount to enjoy while reading your book. I would rather receive a couple little treats as opposed to an entire bag as it feels more like a special indulgence when you only have a few.

Sage + Apple Soy Candle

The same comment that applied to the bath bomb also applies here. Candles, bath bombs and books – #perfection

I wonder if these are the kind of items we can expect to receive every month. If so……I’m sold!

Fall Nail Polish Selection

They round out the box nicely with a beauty product. I love this brand and I love this color. I like to see seasonal appropriate beauty products in my boxes. It shows me that they put time and energy into the curation of the box.

Bookmark

Lastly we have a cute little bookmark. It’s a small detail but I love that they included it.

Too Much Monday Review September 2017 – Final Thoughts

Too Much Monday is a lovely subscription. I am so pleased with my first box. They put together a wonderful selection of products, a great book, and they have beautiful packaging. I love it when book subscriptions include items in addition to the book. And I love it when those items complement the book, as is the case with the bath bomb, tea and candle. They have created an experience and that is something I truly appreciate. I haven’t started reading the book yet, it’s not really something I would have picked out for myself, but I’m still looking forward to reading it. Oh, and I saw the book selection for October. It’s a book I’ve already read and it’s one I absolutely loved. I couldn’t put it down. So basically what I am telling you is you NEED to get the October box if you love a good read. Enough said:)

XOXO
