Here’s a closer look at the items I received this month….

The theme for February is Sweet or Salty Pack. Regardless of whether you prefer sweet or savory/salty snacks, ZenPop curated a jam-packed box featuring a generous mixture of both sweet and savory snacks.

Included in every box is a mini flyer with details, descriptions, and instructions for each item. ZenPop makes note of key ingredients that some people tend to have allergies to or other ingredients used in the facilities that processes the items. This is very considerate of ZenPop and I really appreciate them going this extra mile for people who may have food allergies.

Wan-tan Chicken Shio Ramen (Left)

The Wan-tan Chicken Shio Ramen soup is an easy-to-make bowl of ramen that only requires hot water and 4-5 minutes of waiting time. What’s unique about this ramen is that there’s several pieces of chicken wonton/wan-tan dumplings! These quickly soften up when hot water is added and they taste delicious! It’s a great addition to the shio/salty chicken broth and I enjoyed eating it all.

Cup Star Curry Udon (Right)

Sadly, my Cup Star Curry Udon arrived opened and damaged. It does come shrink-wrapped, but the lid some how managed to pop open during transit. The majority of the noodles and toppings ended up at the bottom of my box, so I’m unable to review this item this month. Such a shame because it smelled delicious!

Calbee Grand Jagabee – Salty Truffle

I am a huge fan of anything with truffles, and these Grand Jagabee chips were amazing. They look like french-fry shaped chips, but where thickly cut and crispy, almost like a cracker. They were sprinkled with salt and truffle flakes for the ultimate luxurious and savory snack.

Imo Kenpi

Unlike the Grand Jagabee, the Imo Kenpi is a healthier snack made of sweet potatoes and has a much skinnier french fry shape. The sweet potato base gives it a subtle sweetness, and the thin shape provide an enormous crunch. It tastes just like sweet potatoes, but the texture felt too hard, which made it unenjoyable to eat.

Butter Shoyu Chip Star

The Butter Shoyu Chip Star looks very similar to Pringles, but these have a unique butter and soy sauce flavor. Together, the flavor combination gives it a very savory taste overall that works really will with these chips!

Sugar Rusk Umaibo

I don’t know what it is about Umaibo, but I am so addicted to them! They come in tons of unique flavors and I have yet to meet one that I didn’t like. This month, Zenpop included TWO flavors, and the first one is the Sugar Rusk Umaibo. Rusk is a crispy biscuit or bread that is usually sweet and this umaibo captures it really well. It’s covered in a crunchy sugary coating that makes me think I’m eating real rusk!

Teriyaki Burger Umaibo

The Teriyaki Burger Umaibo might sound familiar to some, since I reviewed this in the March TokyoTreat box. This one is a favorite of mine because of the rich teriyaki flavor. I don’t really get the “burger” taste, but it’s very delicious nonetheless.

Noir Black Cocoa

If you have a sweet tooth, the Noir Chocolate is sure to satisfy it. This log-shaped treat comes with a soft vanilla cream center and a crispy outer shell made up of Oreo-like cookies.

Calpis Soft Candy Minis

If you aren’t familiar with Calpis, it’s a popular soda made with milky yogurt. I’m personally not a fan of yogurt in my sodas, but these Soft Candy Minis are fruity chewy candies that anyone can love. There’s three flavors in the bag including orange, peach, and the original yogurt.

ZenPop Ramen + Sweets MIX Pack REVIEW February 2019 – Final Thoughts

It seems like the ZenPop Ramen + Sweets Packs just keep getting better and better after each month! I think they did a great job this month including an even balance between both sweet and savory snacks. Surprisingly, I enjoyed nearly everything this month and even found new favorites. I love how I get to try a little bit of everything, especially new types of ramen dishes!

My favorites this month include the Wan-tan Chicken Shio Ramen, the Calbee Grand Jagabee, and both of the Umaibo flavors!
